In Jewish culture and Yiddish language we have the word "Shidduch".
It is difficult to explain in english, but essentially it refers to when someone puts two people together, like what you did or when someone sets up a guy and a girl and they end up getting married. The "Shidduch maker" is held in very high esteem.
